SiC heating elements can be used in furnaces with different atmospheres. However, their service life may be shortened in some atmospheres.
A-coating SiC heating elements
SiC heating elements have high porosity (about 23%), so SiC is slowly oxidized at high temperatures, SiO2 generated from materials, then resistance of elements gradually increased (aging). Generally, SiO2 protective film on the surface of heating elements will prevent from further oxidization due to the presence of oxygen.
B coating SiC heating elements
In the nitrogen atmosphere, nitrogen usually reacts with SiC above 1,400℃, producing silicon nitride, making elements brittle and shortening the service life.
Accessories for SiC heating elements
We provide various types of accessories for SiC heating elements, including insulating sleeves, clips and aluminum braided straps.
MoSi2 heating elements are resistive heating elements based on MoSi2. When they are heated to high temperature in the oxidizing atmosphere, a dense quartz glass film will be generated on the surface to slow down aging.
